Soft rock.

I love how rock 'n' roll these looks are yet they still have a softness to them. The relaxed thin tee and comfy hoodie work so well against the leather jackets. Her blonde hair is killer in these shots, and it's the perfect offset to the black.

Letter sweater.

I wasn't too sure about the resurgence of the letter jacket but I'm definitely digging the letter sweater. It is a more subtle statement than the jacket and I like it's softer look.  I would flip out if I found one with an S.

Pyjama party.

Could these clothes look any more comfortable? I don't know if I want to crawl into bed or onto a beach. The neutrals are divine and they soften the chaotic mix of stripes and textures perfectly. I'm also loving the neon toe and nail polish, it's a great accent to the color palette.

Bob.

I love this girl's haircut. It's a good solution for the painful hair grow out situation I'm currently in.  The all black, edgier ensemble is also the perfect offset to the cuteness of the bob.

March Zara.

Zara's lookbooks always have me running to the door to find the nearest store, this one is no exception. I'm loving the minimalist designs and bold color blocking. They have more colorful blazers in right now, I'm torn between a red or pink one. Yes, I literally did run to the nearest Zara yesterday.

Electric.

I love the contrast of the bright colors set against the crisp white, it is such a sharp, fresh look. The sunglasses remind me of a pair of Oakleys I used to wear in junior high, which of course I now wish I still owned. K9 sweater.

It's hard not to love the campiness of this sweater. A fun item like this could help me survive the last few painful weeks of winter.

Arrivals at Balmain

Casual wide leg.

There have been lots of wide leg shots floating around but this one hit the mark for me.  I'm really digging the boyish charm of the blazer, dress shirt and fit of the jeans.  That loose style is exactly what I've been trying to find, super cool and casual.

Graffiti.

I love the richness of this editorial. The pieces remind me of the incredible array of colors you often see used in graffiti. Spring can't come soon enough.

Fendi f/w 2011.

  

Fendi's f/w collection stood out as one of my favorites from Milan's fashion week.  German artist Kurt Schwitters was the inspiration behind the incredibly rich color palette and collaged textures and fabrics.  The trimmed furs were stunning and added wonderful touches of luxury to a very comfortable and wearable looking collection. Although it's not likely I'll be adding any of Fendi's lux pieces to my wardrobe soon, except maybe the headband, the wonderful mix of rich hues and creative blend of textures definitely gives me some ideas to work with.

Bold prints.

I am becoming more and more a fan of the bold prints we're seeing pop up in the 2011 collections. First it was Christopher Kane’s Resort that caught my eye and now it’s Mary Katratntzou's f/w 2011 collection that showed in London a couple of days ago. The vivid prints in both collections are very different, but both draw from familiar imagery which I think is what makes them so fun and appealing. I love the idea of wearing a reflection of life’s beautiful things, be it a cosmo, a Ming vase, or even a long stretch of open road. I’m curious to see if these imaginative designs trickle down into the more affordable arenas such as Zara, I hope so.
