Cozy.

I could take a nap in this dress. I love the neckline. It adds the perfect hint of sexy to something that otherwise would look just plain comfortable.

'Tis the season.

I have been loving Zara this fall and winter. Here are some of my favourite pieces from their evening lookbook. The red is a definite winner for me.

Boots.

There is a lot to love in these shots, but the boots are where my eyes went first.  The lace ups are especially killer.

Blazer.

I tried on this blazer at H&M last week. I was looking for something pink and dressy. It hadn't occurred to me to dress it down as seen here. I might just have to go back and grab it.

Perfect.

The braid, the scarf, the plaid, even the hair elastic. I love everything in this shot.

Plaid.

Both of these shirts are super cool but I love how vibrant the plaid is.  I'm having to resist going out to buy my umpteenth one.

1989.

I'm amazed at how modern this photo feels. The jacket is so great and I love that you can see her wool socks. She looks just plain cool.

Sweet.

Her up-do is what I like the most here. The centre part in her hair gives the look such a sweet and delicate feel.  Perfect combination.

Original.

One of my favorite Sartorialist shots. Such a wonderful celebration of individual style.

Paolo Roversi's point of view.

Roversi's photos are all unique to one another but his wonderful approach to style is what ties each one together.

"... I don’t think a certain light should become one’s style. I know some photographers who screw a light into the floor of their studio because they like it, and this becomes their style. I think this is terrible. It is too much like putting the same jacket on everyday because you want to be recognized and you are afraid that if you change jackets you won’t be recognized anymore. Your personality is not coming from your jacket or the cut of your hair - and your photographic style should not be coming from a lighting technique. Your photographic style comes from your creative expression, from your esthetic, from the beauty that you can bring to the image, the emotion that you can give to the people who are looking at your work." Messy.

I've always been a fan of the just rolled out of bed look. Granted, I don't often roll out of bed looking like this, I still find the chaotic messiness of these shots hard not to love.

Centrepiece.

I adore hairbands. I love how this one is carried through each shot.  Such a sweet focal point.

Finger lickin' good.

It's probably because I'm such a dessert person, but I love these.

Something to look forward to.

Isabel Marant's California inspired 2011 spring collection is already refreshing to look at, and winter hasn't even started yet. This is my favorite shot from her lookbook.  The classic red bandana coloring is so great.

Lanvin for H&M Fashion Film

I rarely see fashion videos that I like. They're often trying to be short films that showcase clothing but in the end just become bad short films. Lanvin's H&M video is a refreshing example of how to do it right.  This film is a runway show brought to life. The hotel hallway is a great replacement for the catwalk and the models are full of personality.  It's fun, quirky, well styled, and I can really get a strong sense of the collection.  Which is what the goal of these films should be.

Braids.

Braids appeared a lot this year, but I didn't really pay attention to the style. Then I came across these first two gorgeous shots from a 1998 issue of Elle Italy. This inspired me to take a second look. The last photo is from Vogue Paris, March 2010.
