MICHI SS 2012 - Toronto Fashion Week

MICHI's spring 2012 show rocked the tents at Toronto's LG Fashion Week yesterday. The music was pumping and models strutted MICHI's sexy sportswear proudly, in true 90s runway form. The 2012 collection was a strong build on her stellar 2011 debut of provocative, superhero inspired sportswear. Her signature black mesh bras and mesh paneled pants were given new colorful accents of goldy yellow, hot fuschia, and bold cobalt blue.  MICHI's edgy leg wear evolved into spring friendly biker shorts, adding new front lace up details.  Much to my delight she also expanded her line to include more separates. Tanks and tees pieced with mesh and sheer were shown as perfect layering pieces leaving lots of room for the right exposure. Not forgetting the little things she also expanded on her accessories with tough leather arm bands, mesh fingerless gloves with metal cuff detail, and sheer arm warmers.

There was cheering, a model threw her wig into the lap of Robyn Kay (President of the FDCC) and people roared during the finale. There was a definite buzz in the air after MICHI's show. It had a wonderfully contagious energy and the models actually looked like they were having fun, something we don't see enough of on the runways these days.

If you want a taste of the MICHI energy from yesterday, you can have a listen to her show's music below. I not only had the pleasure of attending yesterday but also had the pleasure of working with MICHI to create her runway soundscape.

Enjoy! and don't forget to strut.
